Who will be the African players of the year?

On this 5th November, the African Confederation of Football has announced a list of the ten appointed African players of the year. Ivory Coast is the most country represented with their three superstars, Yaya Touré winner in 2011, Didier Drogba and Gervinho. But Drogba who won this award twice; in 2006 and 2009, will try to get the third one in order to be close to Samuel Eto’o who won it four times. But considered as a main favourite of this special race, the Ivorian who won the European champions league should be careful with his national team-mates. But among those Ivorian stars, we can also distinguish the African players who are making the continent proud in the French side (Ligue 1). It’s a case of the Ghanaian Andre Ayew who is playing for Marseille, the gabonesePierre Emerick Aubameyang from Saint Etienne who has revealed his talent in the African cup of nations in well defending the colours of his host country nations, the midfielder Younès Belhanda from Montpellier and Morocco. The Senegalese Demba Ba from Newcastle, the Nigerian Obi Mikel from Chelsea, the Cameroonian Alex Song from Barcelona and finally the winner of the African cup of nations, the captain Christopher Katongo complete the list. The ceremony will held in Accra on the 20th December
